"Njaya is fast becoming legendary on the independent travellers circuit"” Lonely Planet

If you don't just want to relax on the beach soaking up the sun and are feeling energetic there is plenty to do. You can:

Scuba dive with Aqua Africa - one of the least expensive locations in the world to learn.

Hire ocean going Kayaks or Canadian Style canoes by the hour, half or full day.

Horse riding
Kande Horse Trails offer 2 hour rides on beaches and through forests or full day rides to Bandawe - the historic site of the missionaries. End the day by riding into the lake for a well deserved swim.

The Ferry
The service sails Lake Malawi and calls into Nkhata Bay twice a week: heading North, heading South and heading to Mbamba Bay in Tanzania.

The ferry can also take you to the secluded, beautiful islands of Chismulu and Likoma as well as to Cape Mclear to the south
